about
JMU 4 Kids has been offering quality child care in the Capital District since 2005 with a clear goal to provide a safe, secure, fun enriching experience for the kids, and a convenient, affordable, reassuring option for their parents.

We offer a variety of summer camps in the Capital District: All Saints Academy in Albany, NY; St. Pius X in Loudonville, NY; Catholic Central School in Latham, NY; and Mater Christi School in Albany, NY.
All of our summer camps operate under a permit from the County Health Department, and are inspected at least twice during each summer. Each location also has a full time Health Director, or an Assistant Health Director on duty, as well as adults with Red Cross CPR & 1st Aid Training. All of our workers also undergo background checks per the County Health Department.
We also offer vacation camp during the December, February & April breaks located at All Saints Academy on the corner of Western Ave. & Brevator St. in Albany, NY. For more information regarding our school vacation camps click on our “Vacation Camp Information” page.
Our Story

JMU 4 Kids was founded in 2005 by Joe Urschel and his wife June Urschel. This will be Joe’s 31st year directing summer camps; having previously directed the summer program at a local private school for 10 years before starting his own summer camp business.
Joe has a B.S. in Economics from Union College, and an M.S. in Educational Psychology from The College of Saint Rose. He is retired from the Albany City School District.
Jessica Urschel, the daughter of Joe & June, also assists in the day to day operations of our summer programs, both on campus and behind the scenes doing bookkeeping and administrative work.
