About JMU 4 Kids:

JMU 4 Kids was founded in 2005 by Joe Urschel and his wife June Urschel. This will be Joe's 24th year directing summer camps, having previously directed the summer program at a local private school for 10 years before starting his own summer camp business. 

Joe has a B.S. in Economics from Union College, and an M.S. in Educational Psychology from The College of Saint Rose. He recently retired from the Albany City School District and Doane Stuart School.

Jessica Urschel, the daughter of Joe & June also assists in the day to day operations of our summer programs, both on campus and behind the scenes doing bookkeeping and administrative work.

About Our Summer Camps:

General Info:
All of our camps are coed, and can be used on a week by week basis. There are no minimum registration requirements; however, we do not have partial day or week arrangements available, except for the week of July 2nd. We also do not have a multiple child discount. 
All campers must be fully potty trained and nit free.

Hours of Operation:
Our camps run from 9:00am-4:00am. However, we do offer complementary, supervised, pre-camp care running from 7:30am-9:00am, and post-camp care running from 4:00pm-5:30pm. 

The cost for our summer camps is $180 per week, or $160 per week if any child in a registered family attends school at one of our host schools (Holy Names, All Saints Academy, Saint Gregory's or Mater Christi). The week of July 2nd is a four day week due to the July 4th holiday. As a result the cost is $144/$128 for that week.

When you register we require that you pay for the first week up front by check, mailed to: JMU 4 Kids, 13 Westphal Dr., Delmar, NY 12054. Each subsequent week can be paid for on Monday morning, also by check or cash. If you are registering more than one child you will need to pay for the first week for each camper. You are more than welcome to pay for more than the first week when you register if you choose, but only payment for the first week is required. 

We accept payment through DSS.

Refunds are gladly given as long as a request is made prior to the week in question. Other requests are considered on a case-by-case basis. 

Breakfast, Lunch & Snacks:
We have lunch available for purchase at all five of our locations. The cost of a full lunch is $2 and campers can choose from hamburgers/cheeseburgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches or an energy wrap (peanut butter, granola & honey on a tortilla wrap), a full lunch also comes with potato chips, fruit snacks and a cup of juice. Every Friday we have free pizza for all campers at all of our sites. The pizza for Holy Names, St. Sophia's, All Saints Academy & Mater Christi is provided by Spinners, and the pizza for Saint Gregory's is provided by Vintage Pizza. 

We also provide egg & cheese breakfast sandwiches, or energy wraps for $1 at All Saints Academy and Saint Gregory's. 

A mid-morning & mid-afternoon snack is given to our two youngest groups at our Day Camps. In addition we have a concession stand at all of our five locations with nominally priced drinks & snacks which campers can purchase throughout the day. 

Campers at Holy Names, All Saints Academy & St. Sophia will swim at U Albany's indoor pool. 

The Campers at Saint Gregory's will use the on-site heated pool for their daily swim.
Harry Potter campers do not go swimming 

All transportation will be handled by Durham School Services and drivers are equipped with 2-way radio communication. All campers must be dropped off, and picked up, at the location of their camp.
